Pioneer early white jazz group –considerably ahead of their time stylistically and also highly significant as the earliest example of a “band within a band”, a decade or so before The Bob Crosby Bobcats, Tommy Dorsey’s Clambake Seven and the various Benny Goodman Trios, Quartets, etc. In the case of The Georgians, the smaller group was drawn from the ranks of the then famous Paul Specht Orchestra.
